Buyer Map: Code Particle

Prepared for Michael Yoo | Code Particle | October 2026

As of Oct 8, 2026. Counts from published federal statistics on US companies, dated in the notes at the foot

This page maps the US companies that buy the kind of software engineering Code Particle sells, in the industries your own site names. They fall into four groups, which are software and platform companies, healthcare providers, financial firms, and law and accounting firms. Each group is sized from a public count by staff size and lists the roles that usually sign. It says nothing about which of them Code Particle already works with.

Software companies, 20 to 499 staff

2,200

United States, 2022. Companies selling their own software products.

Hospital companies and health systems, 100+ staff

2,100

United States, 2022. Government-run hospitals are not in this count.

Commercial banks, 100+ staff

1,300

United States, 2022. A holding company counts once.

Law firms, 100+ staff

Software, platform and media companies

Where security, AI, gaming, social and fintech products are built. US companies by the number of people the whole company employs, 2022.

Software companies of every kind share one industry code, so security, AI, game, health and finance software makers all sit in the first row. Companies that write software for others under contract are not in either row.

Healthcare providers

The hospitals and clinics your healthcare page builds for, with physician practices beside them. US companies and nonprofits with paid staff, by the number of people the whole organization employs, 2022.

Each row counts organizations, not sites. A health system that owns several hospitals counts once. Hospitals run by a city, county, state or the federal government are not counted.

Who signs off

The roles that usually sign for outside software engineering, an AI build or a systems integration. Titles vary, and at the smaller organizations one person often holds several of them.

What no public count reaches

Three questions this page cannot answer from a count, said in words rather than shown as numbers.

Security, AI, crypto and digital health companies on their own. None of these has an industry code of its own. Most security, AI and health software makers sit inside the software row beside every other kind of software, and crypto companies are spread across several codes, so no public count separates them. They are found one by one, in the named version.

Hospitals run by government. City, county, state and veterans' hospitals are government bodies, so they are not in a count of companies. They are found one by one, in the named version.

Who already works with an outside engineering team. No public list says which of these companies build everything in house and which already bring in an outside partner, so the rows above count every company in the group at its size.

Three openings

Where the counts point.

Software companies with 20 to 499 staff.

About 2,200 US software companies sit in this band, and about 630 internet, streaming and social platforms beside them. Your case studies in security, gaming and remote patient care were each built for a company whose product is software, and your FAQ says you often work beside an in-house team.

Law and accounting firms with 100 or more staff.

About 1,200 US law firms and about 360 accounting firms have 100 or more staff. Your legal and accounting pages are written for firms putting AI into client work under review, and a firm this size is more likely to have its own IT or innovation lead to own that project.

Hospitals and medical groups with 100 or more staff.

About 2,100 hospital companies and about 3,200 physician practices have 100 or more staff. Your healthcare page offers telemedicine apps and integration with the hospital systems and records a provider already runs, and these two rows hold the providers at that size.

Denominators, definitions and sources

  1. Company counts are employer firms in the federal annual statistics of US businesses, 2022, the newest year published. A firm is every location under one owner. Staff is paid employees across the whole firm in the mid-March 2022 pay period. Organizations with no paid staff and government-run bodies are not counted, and nonprofits with paid staff are.
  2. Industry codes: 511210 software publishers; 519130 internet publishing and broadcasting and web search portals; 622110 general medical and surgical hospitals; 621111 offices of physicians; 6214 outpatient care centers; 522110 commercial banking; 522130 credit unions; 522320 financial transactions processing, reserve and clearinghouse activities; 523120 securities brokerage; 541110 offices of lawyers; 541211 offices of certified public accountants.
  3. Industry codes are our closest match to each group, not your definitions. Each row is its own industry count, and a company with locations in two industries is counted in each, so rows are not added together.
  4. The groups are the industries your site's menu and industry pages name. Built from published federal statistics, counts banded deliberately. Figures of 100 and over are rounded to two significant figures, figures from 10 to 99 to the nearest ten.

The named version of this page, the actual companies inside a row, is built one row at a time. If you want to walk through a row together, pick a time at cal.com/ecg. Prepared by Ben Beattie, ben@enquirerconsulting.com.
